Solid State
Solid State is an italian-chilean electronic music duo consisting of Davide Luciani and Nico Espinoza. They formed in 2020 in Berlin.
Their sounds is the result of self built analog and digital instruments and a closed feedback system between them. Luciani uses a self-build synth called TH, a four voices/channels square wave oscillator with a flat frequency response from 2 Hz to 8000 KHz. It can be operated as 4 independent oscillators or can link voices for in-phase polyphonies or polyrhythms generation. The TH synthesizer has been realised in collaboration with Emanuele Porcinai. Espinoza uses a Max patch called Multi tap transformer. It is a lattice network formed by effect units and a sound interface partially controlled by a max patch that feedback the input signals into parameter modulations and audio signals. The patch combines several inputs and modulates the behavior of two effects (pitch shift and bit crusher), and has two outputs.
